This opening between the kitchen and living room in a 50m2 studio in Lyon is meant to dispose of a table/bar where a previous wall took place. Freeing the space of the tiny living room, it gives as well more light in the main room.
Due to the purpose of the flat (renting for student or young professional) the design had to be as neutral as possible and leave the opportunity to match any agencement of furniture.
straight line and basic forms where to be applied.
The main frame is fixed on the kitchen side, providing shelves, and giving the opportunity to keep spot and wires invisible. Thanks to this designed the people standing on the living room side will only see a thin frame popping outside the wall with no sign of attachment.
