This opening between the kitchen and living room in a 50m2 studio in Lyon is meant to dispose of a table/bar where a previous wall took place. Freeing the space of the tiny living room, it gives as well more light in the main room.

Due to the purpose of the flat (renting for student or young professional) the design had to be as neutral as possible and leave the opportunity to match any agencement of furniture. Straight line and basic forms where to be applied.

The main frame is fixed on the kitchen side, providing shelves, and giving the opportunity to keep spot and wires invisible. Thanks to this designed the people standing on the living room side will only see a thin frame popping outside the wall with no sign of attachment.

Cette ouverture entre cuisine et salon dans un studio de 50m² à Lyon propose un plan de type bar en lieu et place du mur existant. Elle libère l’espace et illumine les deux pièces trop petites, tout en gardant leur aspect fermé.

L’appartement, destiné à la location pour etudiant et jeune professionnel, demandait un design le plus neutre possible pour laisser libre cours à l’agencement intérieur des locataires. Des lignes très simples et formes basiques étaient de rigueur. La fonctionnalité était la priorité plutôt que l’agrémentation.

Le châssis du meuble est fixé et renforcé du côté de la cuisine offrant étagères et intégrant éclairages tandis que côté salon seul un cadre flottant sur le mur est visible.
