SW1 Radio was established in 2004 as a voluntary, community radio station particularly serving the people of SW1. Run by and operated by volunteers, SW1 Radio specialises in the broadcast of a variety of music styles, alongside local news and events as well as specialised shows in areas such as Employment, Theatre, World Music, Urban, Sports, Chat, Social, Legal Assistance and Health and Wellbeing.
SW1 required us to completely re-envisage the SW1 logo. As the radio station was about to relaunch this was their first step to their new identity both online and offline. The Logo was to be distinctive, unique and more importantly, trademark-able. The preferred colours were detailed as white, black and electric blue.
What we did:
KFDS quickly defragmented what it was to be a radio station and proposed a logo that represented the most popular elements of the industry. Not only does the logo incorporate the popular headphone visual we incorporated visual cues of sound and energy to further carry this message. The intention was to create a logo that could potentially be used as a basis of a brand for any future material online/offline they may want to produce.
